Rapids beat Galaxy and get closer

Andre Shinyashiki scored the lead in the 73rd minute and the Colorado Rapids beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Colorado has scored three road victories, something it had not achieved since the 2000 season. Los Angeles has lost four consecutive games to the Rapids, which has never happened before in the club’s history.

Jonathan Lewis gave Colorado a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute on penalty after being tripped by Rayan Raveloson on a counterattack.

Shinyashiki headed in after a Jack Price corner kick to finish the match.

Raveloson had tied at 1 for the Galaxy in the 34th minute.

The Galaxy stalled with 35 points in third place in the Western Conference. The Rapids came just one point closer, on the next step.

In another game, Minnesota United drew 1-1 against the San Jose Earthquakes to move to fifth place with 27 points.
