Initiatives to help the Ukrainian people

In addition to the actions undertaken by the municipalities or communities, many initiatives are being set up, by sectors or by professions. Thus French breeders have set up a chain of solidarity to help their Ukrainian colleagues who do not want to leave their animals there. “We are trying to organize to repatriate people and their animals, it is very complicated because they cannot reach the border, they have no more petrol. explains Sophie, a breeder from Dordogne.

Collections are also organized to help refugees or simply to send to Ukraine like the city of Cannes which is launching this Saturday a fundraiser of basic necessities for Ukrainians.

This is also the case in the sports world, where we try to organize ourselves. OGC Nice coach Christophe Galtier wanted to send a message of support to the Ukrainians and believes that French football must mobilize in this conflict.

There are also many municipalities or communities that say they are ready to welcome refugees. They would be nearly 50,000 to have crossed the border in 48 hours. For example, the mayor of Laval Florian Bercault says he is ready to welcome Ukrainian refugees in Mayenne.
