Ralf Rangnick exchanges his interim at Manchester United for the job of Austrian national coach | International football

After Manchester United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick was conjured up as interim pope. The much-praised German was already promised that he would at least be allowed to stay on as an advisor after this season.

Since last week, Rangnick has known that there is no future for him as a trainer at Manchester United, which has placed his fate in the hands of the Dutchman Erik ten Hag. But Rangnick has already found an attractive new challenge with the Austrian national team.

Austria recently said goodbye to Franco Foda after he failed to lead the country to the World Cup, something the Austrians have not been able to do since 1998.

Rangnick is now tasked with guiding Austria to a 3rd European Championship in a row. If he succeeds, he can also take care of the next cycle up to the World Cup.
