Rage over submarine killer Madsen’s wedding – News

The Danish inventor Peter Madsen is in prison in his self-made submarine because of the murder of Kim Wall. There he fell in love with a Russian activist.

In April 2018, 49-year-old Dane Peter Madsen was sentenced to life in prison for murdering journalist Kim Wall. The case had shocked worldwide: Madsen had tortured Wall in a self-made submarine, killed and then dismembered it. He threw the body parts overboard. In court, the inventor had stated that the journalist’s death was an accident. But the judges came to a different conclusion and sentenced him to prison.

The 49-year-old now seems to have fallen in love behind bars. On December 19, he married Russian activist Jenny Curpen, the Danish portal BT reports. The two had been in contact for several months.

Two hours with Madsen

Curpen is originally from Moscow, but has received asylum as a political activist in Denmark. The wedding took place in Herstedvester Prison.

Despite his cruel deed, Madsen appears to be a womanizer: when he was put in prison, he was still married. However, his wife at the time divorced after the conviction. Afterwards, a prison guard is said to have fallen in love with him. Then she quit her job. Other women are said to have had a liaison with Madsen.

Curpen now seems to be the one: on Wednesday she posted a picture of the key to the prison visitor room on Facebook. The media reported that she was allowed to spend two hours alone with Madsen after the wedding.

Curpen defends itself

The news about the new lovers cause sharp criticism. Curpen is spilled on social media with wild comments. “What the hell is wrong with you?” Or: “You will regret the decision to have married a killer. I bet you will become one of his victims in the future.” The fact that Curpen is a mother of two causes further outrage: “What kind of mother are you that you put your children in such a danger?” Asks a Facebook user.

After the outcry, Curpen was obviously forced to defend himself. In a post, she addressed her critics and friends: “In the past 15 hours, I’ve received thousands of strange, stupid, absurd, or aggressive comments, messages, and physical threats from many so-called normal, law-abiding, good people – men and women who hate violence so willing to kill my husband and me. “

Madsen as a victim?

Curpen continues: “I love and respect my husband. I am proud of him and the 49 years of his human and professional life, except for a day that was and will always be a tragedy. My husband committed a terrible crime and was punished for it “The fact that I know him personally gives me the right to say that I am happy with the most beautiful, cleverest, most talented, most devoted and most sensitive person and man.” Madsen is one of two victims of this crime. “To stay alive was punishment for him alone, not a reward, not luck.”

However, the explanation is still poorly received by the critics: “Victim? Your husband is a victim? I’m sorry. Did you think of Kim’s family”, writes one user, for example. “You urgently need help,” says one user. Others posted a picture of Kim Wall in the comments and wrote, “This is the only victim.”
