In front of the Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo, the President took part tonight in the solemn ceremony of awarding diplomas to the cadets of the 143rd class “Georgi Stoykov Rakovski” of the National Military University “Vasil Levski”.
According to him, these parties must give a clear guarantee that they will not deviate from this direction and will build such a government, united by such priorities and goals that they will be in the interest of Bulgarian citizens.

He also commented on the proposal for the release of Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev.
“I think that the motives of the caretaker ministers were in defense of the rule of law, while the decision of the SJC was in defense of the status quo, which has long been rejected by Bulgarian citizens,” the head of state said.
According to him, this shows that deep reform in the judiciary is inevitable and must guarantee accountability and responsibility of the Prosecutor General and true independence in the judiciary.
