Qualcomm releases Snapdragon Wear 4100 and 4100 Plus for Smartwatch

KOMPAS.com – The mobile chip manufacturer Qualcomm re-released the system-on-chip (SoC) which is specifically for wearable smartwatch devices. Different from the previous year, this year Qualcomm released two chips.

Both carry the Snapdragon Wear 4100 and 4100 Plus series, which are the successors to the Snapdragon Wear 3100, which is now two years old.

Snapdragon Wear 4100 and 4100 Plus are designed with architecture hybrid, as well as bringing some number of improvements. Snapdragon Wear 4100, for example, is equipped with a Cortex-A53 CPU and has used 12nm fabrication (nanometer).

With these improvements, Snapdragon Wear 4100 is claimed to have performance and memory 85 percent faster, and is able to produce graphics quality two and a half times higher than the Snapdragon Wear 3100.

While the Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus has similar specifications, it carries a low-power co-processor, which is able to bear more workloads than the main processor.

Co-processor on the Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus can be relied upon for multitasking activities, and is able to save more efficient battery power.

Snapdragon Wear 4100 and 4100 Plus also get Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity upgrade, support eSIM, optimization of voice assistants and music players, and the ability to save power even though smartwatch in active state.
