Q1 Results of the Andalusian MotoGP, Marquez Brothers’ Nightmare

KOMPAS.com – Qualification Session 1 (Q1) MotoGP Andalusia on Saturday (7/25/2020) became a nightmare session for the Marquez brothers.

The first is the fate that the world champion received, Marc Marquez, who came out earlier than his younger brother, Alex, at the Jerez Circuit.

Marc Marquez outlap in the early minutes of the Q1 session.

However, the Spaniard did not finish the lap, took his motorbike home to the pits, and immediately walked towards the back of the Repsol Honda team’s garage.

Without communicating with his engineers, Marquez senior headed straight to the Repsol Honda team trailer.

He was followed by Repsol Honda boss, Alberto Puig, a few moments later.

Confirmation came shortly after that Marc Marquez would not return for the Q1 session.

Moments later, bad news came again for the Repsol Honda team.

Alex Marquez, who left after Marc, suffered a crash at Bend 5.

He fell and was dragged along with his motorcycle and held his right arm as he stood leaving the crash site.

However, MotoGP reporter Simon Patterson reported that there was no serious injury suffered by Alex Marquez from the accident.

This was confirmed by the Repsol Honda team a few moments later.
