The leaders of the “DNR” and “LNR”, Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik turned to Russian President Vladimir Putin for military assistance. The day before, Putin received permission to use Russian troops outside of Russia.

The Kremlin also published photos of the appeals of the leaders of the “LDNR” to Putin. The appeals say that the militants are asking Russia “to assist in repelling the aggression of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
