Purmerend – A Purmerend company is said to have cheated a British and a Sino-Australian entrepreneur on the purchase of 20 million mouth caps. The two made a down payment of 1.2 million euros but have not seen anything yet, writes the NOS.
After the down payment, the businessmen flew to the Netherlands to view the supply of mouth caps. They were to be picked up at a hotel near Amsterdam Central Station, but that did not happen, reports the NOS, which has seen the purchase agreement.
The Purmerend company stated that the reason was delayed, but no one came in the days that followed. The British entrepreneur threatened to go to the police and since then the company would no longer be accessible.
Bitcoins
The entrepreneurs did receive an email asking them to withdraw the charges and to pay the rest of the amount in bitcoins. Later, the entrepreneurs were sent to a Rotterdam address where some of the mouth caps would be, but this also turned out to be incorrect.
The two have reported to the Marechaussee at Schiphol.
