When comparing March of this year with the same month of 2020, there is a 24% increase in the total of the transferred cargo.
On the other hand, the January-March quarter of 2021 presented an increase of 19% compared to 2020, totaling a transfer of 6,452,705 tons, versus the 5,428,779 of the first three months of last year.
For Luis Knaak, general manager of Puerto San Antonio, this new record in monthly cargo transfer “is a highly relevant fact that demonstrates the professionalism of the port workers, who despite the difficult sanitary conditions, have performed impeccable work in the various terminals of our port. In the same line, Ricardo Rodríguez, president of the Maipo Dock Stevedores Union, affirmed that this historical record “speaks well of port workers.
