Public Works approves the project for doubling the CV-60 between L’Olleria and Terrateig | Radio Alcoy | Present

The Department of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility has definitively approved the Basic Project “Highway L’Olleria-Gandia CV-60. Section: L’Olleria-Terrateig”.

As explained by the Minister for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi Spain, “this action will turn the CV-60 highway into a highway in the section between its start, at the link with the A-7 highway in l´Olleria, and the CV-60 road section already doubled, in the vicinity of Terrateig “. The total length of the section is 23,100 km between both ends.

The duplication of the CV-60 between L’Olleria and Terrateig will mean an investment of the Generalitat of approximately 65 million euros, has highlighted the head of Public Works who has underlined the importance of this project to “back up the central regions, by improving the mobility of the residents of this area and of the many tourists who visit it “. Also, he wanted to highlight the increase in road safety, “one of the main objectives of my department.”

In addition, Arcadi Spain has valued that the action implies the execution of a 13,300 km section of bike lane of 3.00 meters wide with which the CR-60 cycle path continues.

“It is very important – he has commented – to be able to offer mobility options to the private vehicle, with the same security guarantees, and not only for sports or leisure, when possible, but also as a daily mode of transport.”

CV-60

In this sense, the minister added that the CV-60 “is one of the strategic road axes for the Valencian Community as it is configured as a connecting rod between the center of the peninsula and important tourist centers located at the coastal end of this axis”.

The CV-60 road connects, from west to east, the regions of l’Alcoià, El Comtat, Vall d’Albaida, La Costera, La Safor and La Marina. It runs from the connection with the A-7 motorway, at the height of the l’Olleria tunnels, ending at the intersection with the CV-680 road.

Currently, the CV-60 has three sections with different sections. The first section, from L’Olleria to Terrateig, has a single carriageway, with one lane in each direction with access control and links at different levels. The second, from Terrateig to Palma de Gandia, has a section of the highway, with separate roads. The last one, from Palma de Gandia to the CV-680, once again presents a single carriageway and there is no direct connection between this axis and the high-capacity road corridor on the coast that make up the AP-7 motorway and the N-332 road.

Improve the connection of the inland regions with the coast

The action foreseen by the Department in the approved basic project, together with the basic project currently being drafted ‘Connection of the CV-60 highway with the N-332. Section: Palma de Gandia-Gandia ‘, will improve the connection of the inland regions, through a high capacity road, with the coastal corridor made up of the AP-7 and the N-332.

The projected stretch of highway will connect with the surrounding road network by means of the existing links, which will have to be remodeled to a greater or lesser extent for reasons of layout or road safety.

At the beginning, the new road is located on the north side of the current road, its route continues until the junction from which you access the El Carrascot industrial estate in L´Olleria. In this connection, the remodeling of the entrance and exit branches of the north bank is necessary.

At the limit of terms between L´Olleria and Alfarrasí, the new road crosses the Barranc de la Canal and shortly after reaching the next link where the adaptation of two branches is also necessary. From this link you can access Alfarrasí and Montaverner through the CV-620 road, as well as two industrial estates and a gas station.

Next, it crosses the Riu d’Albaida viaduct and reaches the junction that connects the CV-62 with the CV-60. Immediately afterwards, the highway passes under the València-Alcoy railway line and continues its route crossing the Colada de Benigànim and the Barranc de Bèlgida until it connects with the link from which it is accessed through the CV-667 road to Bèlgida and the CV-616 to Otos. In the section between this link and the next, the margin change from north to south of the duplication is made.

From the connection link with the CV-620 road there is access to Pobla del Duc and Beniatjar. The new road continues its route along the southern margin of the current road, reaches the following link, from which you can access Ràfol de Salem and Castelló de Rugat through the CV-615 and CV-619 roads respectively, and from there it goes up to the junction where it connects with the already duplicated section of CV-60. Through this last link you can access Montitxelvo, Terrateig and through the CV-610 to Benicolet.

The typical section of the highway is the same as the section currently duplicated between Terrateig and Palma de Gandia. It is made up of two separate roads 7.00 meters wide with external shoulders of 2.50 meters and interior shoulders of 1.50 meters. Likewise, service roads parallel to the main trunk have been projected along the entire route
