When announcing Mulyadi and Ali Mukhni as the bacalon of the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Mbak Puan had time to say ‘I hope West Sumatra will become a province that really supports the Pancasila state’.
This statement made a scene. Puan, who is the Chair of the PDIP DPP, the Chair of the Indonesian Parliament and the daughter of Megawati Soekarnoputri, is in the spotlight.
“It is clear that it can discourage the West Sumatra people from supporting and electing Mulyadi-Ali Mukhni. In fact, Puan’s statement could spark the anger of West Sumatra residents who are considered not supporting Pancasila,” said Saiful Anam to the political news agency RMOL, Thursday (3/9) .
According to Saiful, if the people of West Sumatra do not support Pancasila, then there are many who want to leave the Republic of Indonesia.
“I think that Puan’s statement is very subjective and should not be conveyed by a political figure at Puan’s level,” he said.
“Not without problems, his statement will have a detrimental impact on the pair he is championing. It could be that people are reluctant to choose the Mulyadi-Ali pair because of Puan’s statement,” he added.
According to Saiful, the Mulyadi-Ali team must act quickly to overcome the impact of Puan Maharani’s statement.
