PSV has unsuccessfully requested the KNVB to move the match for the Johan Cruijff Scale against Ajax. The duel between the national champion and cup winner is scheduled for Saturday, just three days before the Eindhoven team visits AS Monaco in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

The home club can choose from those two dates and Monaco has opted for August 2. The return between PSV and AS Monaco is Tuesday 9 August in Eindhoven. The winner qualifies for the play-offs, in which a place can be earned for the lucrative main tournament of the Champions League.
