PSV borrows Derrick Luckassen out again. The defender will run out of his contract in 2023 and will be leased to the Turkish Fatih Karagümrük until then, the Eindhoven team confirmed on Sunday.
Luckassen starts his fourth loan round with this. PSV already stored him in Turkey last season: the defender played seventeen official games on behalf of Kasimpasa. Before that, he already temporarily played for the German Hertha BSC and the Belgian Anderlecht. In between, he was given another chance in Eindhoven, but Luckassen’s last PSV appearance dates from July 30, 2019. The people of Eindhoven extended his contract in the meantime, in order to receive a transfer fee in the future: however, that no longer seems to be possible.
In 2017, PSV paid five million euros to take over Luckassen from AZ. However, the marriage between the two parties was unhappy from the start. “Looking back, I regret my transfer to PSV. I was not able to live up to expectations myself. But to be honest: I didn’t get much help either,” he said. he already announced in his Anderlecht time. “I will not go back to PSV, that much is certain. Not even if Van Bommel (the then trainer, ed.) leaves.”
Although the transfer period in the Netherlands has already ended, there may be even more PSV players who are chasing Luckassen. It Eindhovens Dagblad mentioned the names of Erick Gutiérrez and Dante Rigo.
