On Thursday (10/13/2022) Iriawan apologized by opening a statement on the formation of the Indonesian Football Transformation Task Force Team, in Jakarta. As is known, the Kanjuruhan tragedy caused the deaths of 132 supporters of Arema, Aremania.
Previously, Iriawan insisted that the Kanjuruhan tragedy was not her responsibility or the federation’s responsibility. This incident was purely the fault of Panpel and the security officers who were found to be negligent in the performance of their duties.

“First of all, on behalf of the federation (PSSI) I apologize for the incident. PSSI is fully responsible for this incident,” Iriawan said opening his statement.
“The form of accountability is that we have decided to form a Soccer Transformation Task Force made up of the government, then by FIFA,” He added.
Iwan Bule believes that the formation of the Task Force Team can be an impetus to improve the implementation of Indonesian football. In addition, the preparation of corrective measures received direct assistance from FIFA and the AFC.
In the timeline of the Task Force Team action plan, many steps will be taken in its efforts to improve the governance of Indonesian football. All these action plans are prepared to ensure the safety, security and comfort of football matches.
“These are all experts (members of the Task Force Team), some come from the football family, namely the security and protection team, the AFC, the Police, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, Ministry of PUPR. Today’s meeting (Team Task Force) is on the agenda for all of us, there are timelines and discussions together “, said Iriawan.
“As regards the law enforcement agencies, synchronization with the regulations will be carried out FIFA and there will be a follow-up meeting between FIFA and the rules that FIFA has. Meanwhile, the PUPR as regards the direction of the president (Joko Widodo) will work on the auditing of all stadiums “, he said.
