PSI Depok Chairman Believes Kaesang Pangarep’s Win in Pilkada Will Make Locals Proud

Chairman of the DPP PSI Depok, Icuk Pramana, believes that President Joko Widodo’s youngest son (Jokowi), Kaesang Pangarep, winning in the next Pilkada in the ‘home’ people will be more proud of. He hopes that Jokowi and Kaesang’s older brother, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, will give their blessing.

“We’ll see what it will be like in the future. But I believe that winning at home will make people proud,” Icuk said when contacted, Friday (2/6/2023).

“Only Mas Kaesang wants to vote, we will continue to make efforts to advance him in Depok, and we hope that Mas Gibran and Mr Jokowi will ask our blessing to give hope so that Depok City will be better,” he continued.

According to Icuk, Kaesang’s political strength will be further tested if he runs for Mayor of Depok. He said that in Solo or Depok, Kaesang is predicted to win.

“Mas Kaesang’s political jaw will be further tested if he runs through Depok City. If he wants to go through Solo or Depok, he will still win,” he said.

Previously, Kaesang Pangarep’s older brother, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, agreed with PKS’s suggestion that Kaesang not run in the Depok Pilkada. Gibran called PKS’s suggestion logical.

“Wis is really kuwi (that’s correct) PKS’s suggestion. I agree with PKS. Yes, it’s logical, it’s logical,” said Gibran as quoted by detikJateng, Thursday (1/6).

Gibran disagreed because Kaesang was not a native of Depok. Apart from that, Kaesang also never lived in Depok.

“Because he is not a Depok person, except for Kaesang who has lived in Depok since he was a child, went to school in Depok, that’s okay,” said the Mayor of Solo.

Asked where Kaesang would be more suited if running as an executive, Gibran said he did not know.

“I don’t know, it’s not clear that person either,” Gibran joked.
