PSG superstar Neimars fell ill with Covid-19

The French football champions Saint-Germain (PSG) in Paris on Wednesday found three people infected with Covid-19, the team said.

PSG said on Wednesday that three people in its ranks have been diagnosed with the virus, but no specific names have been revealed. The three infected have received appropriate medical care, but the rest of the team will be checked regularly in the future.

Several foreign media outlets, including the French newspaper L’Equipe, report that Neimar, Angel di Maria and Leander Paredes have been infected with the virus. The newspaper has previously reported that more PSG players, including the three mentioned above, have gone to Ibiza Island at the end of the season to enjoy their deserved vacation.

The French championship has already started, but PSG got a chance to participate in it a little later, because on August 23 the final of the UEFA Champions League was still played.

The first match of the Paris club is scheduled for September 10 against “Lens”.

The rules of the French league stipulate that if at least three cases of Covid-19 are detected in one club, the unit may not conduct group training. However, the rules apply only if three cases are diagnosed in an eight-day period.

Earlier in the French championship, some teams were diagnosed with Covid-19. One of the first units to report the presence of the virus was Marseille’s Olympique.

PSG was crowned French champion last season, although due to the proliferation of Covid-19, not all games were played in the tournament.
