PSG rebuffed Venice’s approach for Dagba’s loan

The Italian club of Venice was hoping to be loaned Colin Dagba (23), right-back of PSG with low playing time this season (five games in all competitions). But the capital club eventually rebuffed the Italian approach.

PSG wants to continue to downsize its workforce. After the loan departures of Sergio Rico (Mallorca), Rafinha (Real Sociedad), Teddy Alloh (Eupen) and Kenny Nagera (Avranches), other elements of the Parisian workforce could in turn change air in January. According to information from Tuttomercato confirmed by RMC Sport, Venice has concretely positioned itself to try to bring in the right side on loan.

Still, Paris is not willing to give up its player for the moment. The Italian approach was therefore rebuffed. The French Under-21 international has played just five games in all competitions this season. He pays for the arrival of Achraf Hakimi – indisputable at the post – last summer from Inter Milan. Dagba shares the crumbs with Thilo Kehrer, sometimes used as a right-back by Mauricio Pochettino.

A native of Béthune, Dagba joined the PSG training center in 2016 and has never left the club since. He had accumulated a lot of game time last season by appearing in 33 games in all competitions. He had thus taken advantage of the absence of Alessandro Florenzi, the usual incumbent, to play in the quarter-finals of the Champions League first leg and return against Bayern Munich. The young defender is linked with PSG until 2024.

With Nani and Cuisance?

Venice, promoted in Serie A, is currently 17th in the championship with a point ahead of Cagliari, first relegation. If Dagba signed, he would play alongside two other Frenchmen: striker Thomas Henry and midfielder Michael Cuisance, on loan from Bayern Munich in early January. Portuguese star Nani (35) has also joined the Italian club in recent days.
