The National Capital Will Move, Hotman Paris: Hundreds of My Properties What’s the Fate?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The plan to move the State Capital (IKN) to East Kalimantan made the famous lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea dizzy.

Hotman Paris admitted that he was worried about the fate of hundreds of his properties in Jakarta. This was revealed by Hotman Paris through his Instagram account on Monday (24/1/2022).

“The nation’s capital is moving, I’m dizzy! What will happen to my hundreds of properties, will prices fall? My heart is waiting for 2024,” wrote Hotman Paris on Twitter caption.

Hotman also thought about the hundreds of assets he has in Jakarta, ranging from land, shop houses, to apartments.

“The capital will move? I’m dizzy that he’s even dancing. What will happen to the price of my hundreds of land, shop houses and apartments?” Hotman said in another post.

Furthermore, Hotman also questioned whether in the future Jakarta would still exist even though the State Capital was moved to Kalimantan.

“Can Jakarta still exist like the new york city which is still victorious even though the capital is in Washington DC?” said Hotman.

The transfer of the new IKN from DKI Jakarta to East Kalimantan looks set to become a reality. The government has also chosen “Nusantara” as the name of the country’s future capital city.
