Sony has announced that official PS5 covers will be made available in January 2022, and it is not just a few colors to choose from.

The recommended retail prices for the console covers are currently US $ 54.99 (500 Norwegian kroner), can be found at PlayStation Direct Store under “Coming Soon” and has an official US launch on January 21, 2022. It is unclear whether the covers will reach other regions on the same date, and what the official price will be outside the US.
In the same vein, we will fortunately also get new DualSense controllers with colors that match the new covers for PS5, and these will actually be available in the US a few days in advance, on January 14, 2022, while other regions will have to wait until February 11, 2022 It is currently unclear which regions Sony is referring to here.
Unlike PS5 covers, which can be removed and replaced at any time, the DualSense controllers are factory-made with these colors, so you can not change color after a possible purchase. The new controls cost $ 74.99 (683 Norwegian kroner.)
Right now, only Midnight Black and Cosmic Red covers will be available on the above date (DualSense in Starlight Blue will be first out in terms of controllers), while the other colors will be on the market later in 2022.

Sony secured a patent for the PS5 covers on November 16, 2021, which testified that the company would soon start selling official covers for PlayStation 5. Anyone who guessed that the covers were just around the corner is obviously rubbing their hands now.

From the beginning of 2022, however, users will be able to buy official covers from Sony, in a number of different bright colors. At the same time, it is not particularly easy to find the actual PS5 consoles in stores, which for most people should be the first item on the agenda.
