Prosecutor’s office confirms investigation – Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district

As regards the allegations against a veterinarian from Markgrflerland, the Freiburg public prosecutor’s office has now confirmed that it has launched an investigation. A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office told BZ that the subject of the proceedings was charges of violation of the animal welfare law and suspicions of fraud. However, due to the ongoing investigation, it is not possible to provide further details about the suspect and the proceedings. The police had already confirmed their investigative activities, which involved the trade/environment department of the Freiburg police station. Former employees and pet owners had accused the vet of treating animals unfairly or even abusing them and billing for services not rendered.
