Promoting Financial Education: National Financial Education Week in Mexico

Today, more than ever, it is important to promote financial culture and education at all levels and sectors of the population through various actions such as the National Financial Education Week (SNEF), which is the most important event of Financial Education in Mexico, the which under the motto “Control your finances and improve your financial health”, this year the 16th edition will be held.

In this event promoted by the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef), which will take place from October 23 to 29, 2023, activities and information aimed at developing sufficient financial capacities are brought to the population to manage and make the best use of the resources they have.

Pablo Velásquez, Condusef delegate in Coahuila, reported that The main objective is to develop capabilities and/or skills for better money managementreducing the risks of over-indebtedness and financial stress, promoting savings and making good use of financial services and products to achieve good financial health.

This year, both in-person and virtual activities will be carried out aimed at the general public, covering topics related to the proper use of financial products and services with content for children, young people, adults, seniors, SMEs and for Mexicans abroad.

There will be executing institutions with different profiles such as educational institutions, government institutions, Banks, Insurance Companies, Afores, Influencers and other unions.

In Coahuila, the in-person activities will be this Monday the 23rd at 9:00 a.m. at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, with the topic Insurance; on the 24th at 10:00 at the Faculty of Fiscal and Financial Administration of the Autonomous University of Coahuila (UA de C) Torreón Unit, on Health/Financial Education; on October 25 at the Roberts School in Saltillo; on the 26th at 9:00 a.m. at the Faculty of Economics and Marketing of the UA de C in Torreón, with the topic Fintech; on the 27th at the Institute of Higher Studies Teaching and

Training (IESEC) Saltillo, with Health/Financial Education.

In addition to the events scheduled at various universities, there will be more than a thousand online conferences and a virtual Fintech platform where you can learn what they are and what they do.
