145 Police Officers, who were promoted to a higher rank by the Police Services Commission as of October 1, 2023, were given their ranks today at the ceremony held at Nicosia Atatürk Sports Hall. 2 personnel were promoted to Police Chief, 4 to Deputy Police Chief, 14 to Police Chief Inspector, 1 to Fire Chief Inspector, 20 to Police Inspector, 29 to Assistant Police Inspector, 69 to Police Sergeant and 6 to Fire Department Sergeant.
At the Promotion Ceremony, Security Forces Commander (Security KK) Lieutenant General. Osman AYTAÇ, General Director of Police (PGM) Kasım KUNİ, PGM-I. Deputy Ahmet BEŞERLER, PGM-II. Deputy Zafer ZAIFER, Security Forces Command Police Services Commission member Staff Colonel Mehmet Ali AKBAŞ, District and Department Managers, and spouses and families of promoted Police Officers attended.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Director of Police (PGM) Kasım KUNİ; He pointed out that promotion is the most important motivating tool in an institution and that productivity in the Police Organization and therefore the level of service to the public increases with promotions. PGM KUNİ also said that he has full faith that the promoted Police Officers will overcome every difficulty by being modern, democratic and respectful of human rights. He wished health, happiness and success to all the promoted personnel and hoped that the promotions would be beneficial to the police force and our country.
Speaking after the promoted personnel were given their ranks, Security Forces Commander Major General. Osman AYTAÇ said that every promotion increases the person’s authority and responsibilities and that one should act with this awareness, noted that soldiers and police are comrades in arms, and wished success to all promoted personnel and wished that their promotions would be beneficial.
