On Monday, Manchester United even removed all Mason Greenwood merchandise from the club’s website, as angry fans returned shirts bearing the player’s name to the Old Trafford megastore.
While Mason Greenwood remains in police custody following allegations of rape and assault, a few teammates, including Cristiano Ronaldo, David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, appear to be unfollowing the 20-year-old on social networks, while Nike suspended its sponsorship contract.

Manchester United team sponsor TeamViewer said it was closely monitoring developments. For its part, the official partner Cadbury has announced that Greenwood will not appear on any of its marketing products. The Manchester United player was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault on Sunday after his girlfriend posted photos of his bruised face on social media.
Currently in detention for questioning, the Mancunian has been removed from the group. The Red Devils released a statement, saying the England international “will not be returning to training or playing matches until further notice”. On images since deleted, the young woman has bruises on her arms and legs.
She can also be seen with her mouth and nose bleeding, accompanied by this unequivocal message: “So that you know all that Mason Greenwood does to me.” The police announced the opening of an investigation “to establish all the circumstances” around this case.
