Over the past few days, thousands of people have waited patiently outside London’s Westminster Hall to greet Queen Elizabeth.

Mourners received a surprise on Friday when King Charles and his brothers Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward appeared as guards of honor in front of their mother’s coffin.

For about fifteen minutes the queen’s children stood silently around her coffin, all dressed in military uniforms.

Saturday was the turn of the grandchildren, including the king’s children, Prince William and Prince Harry.

At King Charles’ request, both Prince William and Prince Harry wore military uniforms for the occasion, he writes BBC.

So the same exception was made for Prince Harry, as was made for Prince Andrew on Friday, allowing him to wear his military uniform after being stripped of his titles earlier this year.

This was the first time Prince Harry had been seen in military uniform since then reduced its real assets in 2020.

At the queen’s coffin, the brothers were joined by Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.

You have to wait 24 hours straight

Several hundred thousand Britons were expected to pay their last respects to Queen Elizabeth at London’s Westminster Hall.

Mourners who want to see the queen have been warned of long waits and low temperatures overnight. The queue is up to eight kilometers long and the waiting time to visit the queen is currently 24 hours, writes the BBC.

Queen Elizabeth is the longest-serving monarch in British history, having sat on the throne for over 70 years.

Westminster Hall is open 24 hours a day until Monday morning, the day of the funeral.
