Britain’s Prince Harry has returned to court to challenge a decision by the British Home Office. That ministry decided in January that the Duke of Sussex cannot pay for police security in his native country.
The prince is also targeting the Metropolitan Police in the new case, a British court confirms Newsweek. He is responsible for the security of the royal family.
Harry lost his security when he and his wife Meghan Markle decided to step down as working members of the British royal family in 2020. The prince then wanted to pay for his security himself, but the ministry does not want to share information from intelligence services with other security authorities.
The media attention for him and his wife Meghan and the resulting feeling of insecurity were the main reasons why the prince withdrew and moved to the United States.
About two weeks ago, Harry already had a victory in the first case he brought about his security. The court then ruled that there will in any case be a hearing on the decision that Harry cannot pay for police security himself. The date of this hearing is not yet known.
