Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Latest Controversies: Podcast Deal, Royal Title Abuse, and Family Name Change

Who would have expected that the recent bad news about the health of the king and his daughter-in-law Kate would at least temporarily calm the turbulent waters surrounding the British royal family would be wrong. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan continue to live their own lives and do not look back. Despite all the scandals, name-calling and disrespectful comments, they continue to operate as a great business for money and do not hesitate to use everything that suits them.

In addition, the Duchess of Sussex was supposed to sign just a few days ago contract for a new podcast with the Lemonada Media network when it didn’t work out with Spotify for $20 million.

To Canada for winter fun

The couple recently took a private jet for a trip to Victoria, Canada. Prince Harry often worries about protecting the environment, but this time he didn’t really care that the plane had to fly for them (apparently empty) to Santa Barbara, California, where they were loaded and set off on a two-hour flight to Vancouver and then to Victoria.

The Sussexes visited British Columbia for a three-day event related to the preparation of the Invictus Games. These are the international sports games that the prince founded to help military veterans and soldiers injured in combat, and the next edition is due to be held exactly one year from now in Canadian Victoria. And according to the published photos, the famous couple thoroughly enjoyed the trip and had a lot of fun.

Degrees aren’t important, but it’s nice to have them

The newly launched website Sussex.com, which replaced the original website Archewel, has revealed more unexpected news from the lives of the closely watched couple. First of all, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex displayed their titles of nobility on them right on the front page, which in the past they spoke of as unimportant.

Many observers point out that it is highly problematic to use royal titles, including the royal crown insignia, in any connection with commercial purposes. The Queen Elizabeth II. she kept them after they left for California (the titles of His and Her Royal Highnesses were taken from them), but with the understanding that they would not abuse them in any way. Which, according to many, has now happened, and some foreign media did not hesitate to call it “spitting in the Queen’s face”.

Experts on the royal family expect that the attempt to “sell” the royal titles will definitely backfire. As the Daily Mail reported, they could even lose them for using the Sussex title and royal coat of arms for obvious commercial purposes.

A big change in children

The information that Harry and Meghan changed their offspring’s surnames – despite a decades-old tradition – also attracted a lot of attention. As The Times writes, it has emerged that four-year-old Archie and two-year-old Lilibet no longer use the traditional Mountbatten-Windsor surname. It has been used in the royal family since 1960 and is a combination of the family names of Queen Elizabeth II. and her husband Prince Philip. From now on, Harry’s children will use the surname Sussex, while the change was supposed to happen at the coronation of King Charles III, only no one knew about it.
