Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make their podcast debuts reviewing 2020

Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, released the first installment of their podcast Archewell Audio on Spotify and they did it with a Christmas special that looks back at what happened in 2020 and wonders what can be learned from all that.

“We want to pay tribute to the compassion and kindness that have helped so many people get through this year,” says Prince Henry at the beginning of the podcast.

“And at the same time, we want to honor those who have experienced unimaginable uncertainty and loss. Our thoughts have been with you, especially during this holiday season,” adds his wife.

Prince Harry and Meghan are grateful for the work of the health and emergency personnel who are giving their skin in the fight against the pandemic.

And then they present a series of guests, from artists to cooks to politicians or athletes, who have “inspired” them throughout 2020.

Among those voices, which emphasize above all “the power of connection” in the last twelve months, are Elton John, Stacey Abrams, James Corden, Naomi Osaka, José Andrés and Tyler Perry.

Apart from the reflections on the situation in the world at the moment, the highlight of the podcast belongs to his son, Archie, who with little more than a year made his radio debut with some nice words to congratulate the new year.

The landing of Enrique and Meghan in the world of podcasts was announced a couple of weeks ago, when Spotify He detailed that the couple will produce and present a series of spaces throughout 2021.

“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment to really listen to each other and connect with each other without distraction,” they said in a statement at the time.

Separated from monarchical life, Prince Henry and his wife have lived in California (USA) since the spring and, in addition to their foray into radio, they have also signed an agreement with Netflix to produce and develop audiovisual content.
