The state of North Rhine-Westphalia leads no talks through a stake in the Thyssenkrupp industrial group.
Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) said on Friday in Dsseldorf. But there are permanent talks with everyone involved about the Future of the company.
In his view, a “steel industry in German hands” is “systemically important”Laschet emphasized. From Auto suppliers to wind energy companies rely on steel.
“Dependence on external forces” would therefore be “harmful to the economy and medium-sized companies” in NRW. Thyssenkrupp is currently on Find a partner for his steel industry.
The role of the state
The IG Metall previously had one State involvement penetrated to the German steelworks.
IG Metall is ready for talks of the German steel manufacturers with the participation of the Federal Government, IG Metall board member Jrgen Kerner told the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung”.
