Inspector Barnaby has to hunt down a murderous wolf monster in Little Worthy – actually an internet café’s publicity stunt that suddenly came to life. Barnaby doesn’t want to believe that there are supernatural powers involved. He suspects a completely human figure behind the mask of the wolf monster. The case turns out to be extremely difficult even for the experienced DCI.
