His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Neophyte celebrated the festive Easter service for the Resurrection of Christ from the Patriarchal Cathedral “St. Alexander Nevsky”.
The service was attended by President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva, Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and his wife Margarita. Many believers came to the temple with their families and children.
This year, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church decided that “in connection with unfavorable circumstances, there will be no trip on Holy Saturday to carry the Blessed Fire from the Holy City of Jerusalem.” The beneficent fire, kept since last year, was received by clergy in the Synodal Chapel “St. Tsar Boris-Michael” in Sofia to be taken to the temples of their dioceses at the evening services for the Resurrection of Christ, BTA reported.
