“Yes, actually, Eid is indeed a momentum for friendship and halal bihalal, but in the context related to Mr. Jokowi, many branch children actually say for a moment, let me meet with the branch children first, because they are also a stronghold for Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri,” said Secretary General of PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, at Megawati’s residence, Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday (12/4/2024).
Hasto also explained that so far PDIP is still focused on the dispute over the 2024 election results. He also still mentions the perceived abuse of power.
“It’s not a problem because of the PDI Perjuangan, but more because of how the 2024 election, especially the Presidential Election, which was envisioned as President Jokowi’s legacy, but it turns out it is actually the culmination of the President’s abuse of power,” said Hasto.
Hasto also responded to the statement by the Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, who said that a meeting between Jokowi and Megawati was being sought. Hasto asked journalists to ask Ari again about this.
“Yes, it’s time to ask Mr. Ari,” said Hasto.
Palace Opens Voice
The Palace opened its voice regarding the meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri. Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, said Jokowi was very open to staying in touch with anyone, especially national figures.
“Regarding the friendship with Mrs. Megawati Sukarnoputri. The President is very open to staying in touch with anyone, especially with national figures,” said Ari to journalists, Friday (12/4/2024).
Ari said that the right time was being sought for Jokowi’s relationship with Megawati. He considers the month of Shawwal to be the right month to strengthen friendship.
“Regarding the relationship with Mrs. Megawati, we are looking for the right time. After all, it is still in the month of Shawwal. The month of Shawwal is the most appropriate month to strengthen the relationship,” he said.
For your information, on Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah which falls on April 10 2024, Jokowi will be in Jakarta. Jokowi also held an open house at the State Palace, Jakarta. State officials and the public attended the open house.
On the second day of Eid yesterday, Jokowi was in Jakarta in the morning. Jokowi then left for Medan City in the afternoon.
