jpnn.com, JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked all parties to remain vigilant of the situation economy in the third quarter of 2021.
The reason is, the Head of State predicts that the economy will be heavier due to the impact of the spread of the Delta variant.
“We know that in early July, the Delta variant has forced us to tighten people’s mobility which of course has an impact on our national economy,” President Jokowi said in a virtual speech at the 44th Anniversary of the Capital Market in Jakarta, Tuesday (10/8).
He also invited capital market players to be aware of the economic situation in Indonesia triwulan III.
Nevertheless, Jokowi is optimistic that the Indonesian capital market sector has the opportunity to grow better. Referring to previous experience, during the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), the value of daily transactions on the stock exchange actually increased to Rp 7.5 trillion-Rp 8 trillion.
After the PSBB ended, the daily transaction value again increased to Rp 13.1 trillion. President Jokowi asked that this growth momentum be maintained.
“Increasing trust so that the capital market must be a priority, digitization is accelerated, service quality productivity must be improved, law enforcement must be firm and transparent, we must improve the national economic ecosystem together,” said the President. Jokowi.
The former mayor of Solo also appreciated the significant addition of capital market investors until July 2021. He was grateful that the increase in the number of capital market investors was largely contributed by domestic investors as well as millennial investors.
