post coronavirus with boom renovations and multifunctional houses

The coronavirus created considerable difficulties for those who had to buy or sell their home during the first quarter of 2019, but the reopening of real estate agencies in May is leading to a positive change of course. Therefore, let the real estate market breathe again, after going through difficult moments in the first three months of the new year. According to data provided by the Revenue Agency, in Q1 2020 there were a total of 117,047 residential transactions, 15.5% less than in 2019 (when the number of sales reached 138,525 units). The worst figure made it mark the South (-16.2%), while the Center is the one that – in quotes – has suffered less (14.4%).

Following the trends of the post-covid residential market, identified by the research conducted by Gabetti and Patrigest and published online by the Idealista portal.

Residential sector: renovations on the rise

The study carried out by the Gabetti e Patrigest company highlights a probable increase in property renovations, with many owners taking advantage of the Ecobonus and Sismabonus included in the government’s Relaunch decree (deductions of up to 110%) and ready for the next 1 July.

Buying a house: people will look for a larger and multifunctional home

In addition to renovations, one of the main trends in the post coronavirus real estate market will be the search for homes with a larger size, multifunctional and modular spaces. During the lockdown period many people then realized that they felt the need for an outdoor space, be it a small garden, courtyard or terrace: hence the forecast that the demand for properties corresponding to these will increase significantly features.
