A father and son walking out of a grocery store kosher Staten Island were shot by a BB gun in a drive-by Sunday afternoon, police were investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.

The shots came from a black Ford Mustang with no license plates, the police department said. Its driver fled after firing an unknown number of shots towards the Island Kosher Market on Victory Boulevard.
Authorities are investigating the attack as a possible hate crime, saying both victims wore a yamakathe head accessory worn by some people in the Jewish community at the time of the shooting.
No arrests had been announced as of Monday morning and no clear motive in the attack.
