Portugal records 255 more cases and two more deaths from Covid-19 – Jornal Económico

Portugal has a total of 50,868 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 255 more than the previous day, reveals the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) released this Thursday, July 30. The number of fatalities from the new coronavirus in the country increased to 1,727, which corresponds to two more deaths in the last 24 hours.

The epidemiological bulletin released this afternoon indicates that, to date, 440,046 suspected cases have been recorded and 1,616 people are still awaiting the results of Covid-19’s laboratory analysis. There are currently 387,562 unconfirmed cases after the analysis, and 35,741 are under surveillance by health authorities.

DGS reveals that there are currently 18,626 cases registered in the North, 4,435 in the Center, 25,939 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 878 in the Algarve, 167 cases in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, 105 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira and 717 cases in the Alentejo.

There are currently 403 inpatients, of which 42 are in Intensive Care Units (UCI) and 36,140 cases recovered in Portugal, 765 more than those recorded yesterday.

The total of 1,727 deaths, 828 were in the North, 252 in the Center, 596 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 15 in the Algarve, 15 in the Azores, 21 in the Alentejo, with none registered in Madeira.

The DGS bulletin counts two female fatal victims and one male victim between the ages of 30 and 39, joining the two fatal victims, female and male, between the ages of 20 and 29, and there are currently five confirmed deaths below 40 years old.

There are also 10 female and 10 male fatalities between the ages of 40 and 49 years old. There were 38 male victims and 17 female victims in the age group from 50 to 59 years old, 105 victims between 60 and 69 years old male and 48 female, 204 male deaths and 130 female deaths between 70 and the 79 years. There are also 503 male victims and 657 female victims over 80 years of age.

The age group with the most confirmed cases is 40 to 49 years old (3,771 men and 4,657 women), with a total of 8,370, followed by 50 to 59 years old (3,305 men and 4,404 women), in a total of 7,678. There are 4,102 children and adolescents infected, between 0 and 19 years of age. There are currently 22,692 men and 28,176 women infected with the new coronavirus.

The number of cases in the age groups between 30 and 39 years and 60 and 69 years has seen increases. The DGS bulletin assumes the existence of 3,956 men and 4,356 women infected between 30 and 39 years old, and 2,412 men and 2,690 women with confirmed cases between 60 and 69 years old. There are currently 3,925 women and 1,889 men over the age of 80 infected with Covid-19.

The age group between 20 and 29 years of age has also seen a considerable increase in positive cases, with 3,606 men and 4,187 women with positive cases to date. The age group between 70 and 79 years old checks 1,664 men and 1,870 infected women. There are 44 men and 30 women whose age is unknown.

In relation to symptoms, the most reported are coughing (35%), fever (28%), muscle pain (21%), headache (20%), generalized weakness (14%) and breathing difficulties (10%).
