PORTRAIT. Rennes: Lucienne, 100 years old and 32 great-grandchildren

“It is an immense happiness to have my children with me today for my hundred years”, confides with emotion, Lucienne Le Trionnaire. To celebrate the event, on January 24, the day after his birthday, no large family gathering. The health context did not allow it. But, each member of his family, and there are many, reminded of his affection for this new centenary with astonishing intellectual vitality.

66 direct descendants

On January 23, 1921, Lucienne Collet was born in Guern (Morbihan). She is the youngest of a family of five children: four daughters of remarkable longevity and a less fortunate boy from this point of view. His secondary studies, serious in Pontivy, will be suddenly interrupted by the death of his father. “I will not be the teacher I dreamed of being”, she regrets.

It is also in Pontivy that she meets Jean Le Trionnaire who will become her husband and the father of her 7 children: 3 girls and 4 boys. They married under the occupation and lived for a few years in Pontivy before leaving Morbihan for professional opportunity, with their first two children Danielle and Michel. It will first be Châteaugiron (Ille-et-Vilaine) for a short time and the birth of Jacques.

In Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier for a dozen years, the family grew with Jean-Luc, Claudine and Denis. “Concerned about offering wider educational and professional opportunities to their children, our parents decided to settle in Rennes in 1960. They opened a drugstore in the new district of rue de Brest and Jean developed his painting business. Mireille, their last child, was born at this time ”, explains Jean-Luc, one of the sons.

In Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande for more than half a century

In 1967, the family moved to Saint-Jacques, first rue des Lilas, then in 1973 at Pigeon Blanc. This is where Lucienne still lives today. In 1992, in the old town hall of Saint-Jacques, next to their home, the mayor Daniel Delaveau officiates for their golden wedding, an approach which strengthens their link with the town.

In 2002 Jean died. On this long journey, it is ultimately in Saint-Jacques that Lucienne will have lived the longest.

“Today I savor the affection of my seven children and their spouses, and I think of my 18 grandchildren, my 32 great and 9 great-great-grandchildren. I hope to find them again soon for an extended party ”, wishes Lucienne.
