With a stable seven-day incidence of less than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the decision paper, from March 8, up to ten people in small groups can again do sports outdoors in countries or regions. With a stable incidence of less than 50, contact sports outdoors and non-contact sports indoors could be enabled again in a further step after 14 days. A further two weeks later, contact sports should be permitted again in the hall if the values remain stable or fall.

With an incidence between 50 and 100, at least “individual sport alone or in pairs and sport in groups of up to 20 children up to 14 years of age outdoors” can be made possible.
Many questions unanswered
What does that mean for the sports clubs in the southwest? Can it start again immediately? “No, definitely not,” says Robert Junak, head of the soccer division at the Feuerbach sports association, to SWR Sport: “That will be determined relatively promptly, who will do what, when, where.” There are a lot of questions to be answered, so Junak: “Are handball players allowed to go out again? For example, to train outside again? We footballers give away some of our seats. What age group do we start with? Do you start with the little ones on, with the Middle Ages, with the ancients. Junak thinks it’s good that there is now a delicate perspective. “The plan is set or the direction is set, but everything has to be discussed and implemented first,” says Feuerbacher: “And not open gates and everyone out and kick and do and do. Then chaos is inevitable.”

The Feuerbacher knows how difficult this process will be. “It is difficult, there is no real panacea. History has overwhelmed us all. There is no good solution, there is only the best of the bad,” said Junak: “What is that? I have no idea.”

So far, the Feuerbach sports association has kept itself well above water with online training. But the fear of dwindling membership also prevails in the small Stuttgart district club.
