(Jeonju = Yonhap News) Reporter Jeong Kyung-jae = A sexual harassment complaint has been received against a man who touched the body of his young stepdaughter in an entertainment program, and the police have launched a “preliminary investigation “.

The pre-booking investigation is the stage of gathering information about the case and, if the suspected crime is revealed, it is converted into a formal investigation, as in the case of the suspect.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency Women and Youth Investigation Team announced on the 21st that it had received a report of a man suspected of molesting his stepdaughter and had launched an investigation before being arrested.

The scene in question is that in the entertainment program ‘Oh Eun-young Report – Marriage Hell’ broadcast on MBC on the 19th, a man from a remarried family living in Iksan City played with his seven-year-old stepdaughter and stabbed the kick child with hand, saying ‘play mock injection’.

The stepdaughter denied inappropriate physical contact, but the stepfather continued the problematic behavior afterward.

In the broadcast, the stepfather explained that it was an expression of affection for his daughter, but many viewers’ comments on the bulletin board on the program’s homepage claimed that this behavior amounted to child molestation.

In this regard, MBC said in a statement, “We were only focused on analyzing the couple’s issues, so we could not closely watch the airing of scenes that viewers may be concerned about.”

The Jeonbuk Police Agency said it has received complaints against the family in the past and will carefully consider whether to launch an investigation.

An official from the Jeonbuk Police Agency said, “It is difficult to disclose the details of the case as there is concern about secondary harms to victims of sex crimes.”
