“Police School” star Art Metrano is dead

The actor died of natural causes in his home on Wednesday, Metrano’s son confirms The Hollywood Reporter. On Thursday, the son took to social media to remember his father.

– Yesterday I lost my best friend, my mentor and my father. He was and will always be the strongest man I know of, wrote his son Harry Metrano in a post on Instagram.

For a number of years, Metrano and the gang from the hit films “Politiskolen” adorned TV screens in Norway. Metrano became part of the series when the sequel “Politiskolen 2” came out in 1985, and played the ruthless police chief Ernie Mauser. In addition, he starred in a number of other films and series, including the hit series “Law and Order”.

– Those who invented the saying “legends never die” must have had you in mind, the son writes further in tribute to his father.

Metrano broke through when he appeared on “The Tonight Show” as a stand-up comedian in 1970, writes CNN. His acting career came to an abrupt halt in 1989 after a fall accident while working on his rooftop, which later became the play “Metrano’s Accidental Comedy” which has appeared in a wheelchair.
