Bahrain Victorious has had a good Tour de France so far, despite the team’s overall hope Jack Haig toppling out early. The team has won two stages so far in this year’s Tour de France, with Dylan Teuns and Matej Mohoric respectively. They also have Wout Poels in the climbing jersey with four stages left and lead the team competition with well over half an hour.

– They disturbed the riders for one hour and finally they said thank you. They did not say anything about why they visited us, but we will find out today through the lawyers, says team manager Milan Erzen to Cyclingnews before starting the 18th stage.

The raid took place on Wednesday night and according to Cyclingnews, up to 50 police officers must have been involved in the raid.

Erzen tells Cyclingnews that the police asked for the riders’ training files and that they checked the team bus. The team also confirms to Cyclingnews that the hotel the team stayed at in Pau was investigated.

The team has had a brilliant season this year, but has also been met with doping allegations. After Mark Padun won two stages in the Critérium du Dauphiné, there were several anonymous accusations against the rider in The Parisian.

Erzen was then aware that they were not doing anything illegal, and that the reason for the better results was due to long-term work.

In the Giro d’Italia, Damiano Caruso finished second in the summary, while Pello Bilbao is set to be the team’s best in this year’s Tour de France. The Spaniard is in tenth place in the summary after 17 of 21 stages.
