League of ‘League Of Legends’ Club, Paris Saint-Germain slams La Liga boss

Melero invited Tebas to learn how to manage the competition so that La Liga would not be in debt.

The management of Paris Saint-Germain criticized the statement by La Liga president Javier Tebas who mocked the French Ligue 1 club as a league of legends by bringing in players aged over 30 years.

PSG did bring in a number of players aged over 30 years in the transfer market last summer, such as Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid, and former Barcelona Lionel Messi.

Tebas considers PSG to have gathered a number of veteran players, thus considering the club to be like League of Legends. Not only that. Tebas also considered that PSG’s shopping for players was more dangerous than the Super League.

“PSG looks like League of Legends, given the age of some of the players. La Liga has young players like Vinicius [Junior]. PSG problem, we will solve it. What PSG are doing is as dangerous as the Super League,” Tebas said Reuters.

“We will continue to improve, even though Messi is gone. We will work against them. These clubs are as big an enemy as the Super League.”

The statement invited a reaction from Victoriano Melero. The PSG secretary general said Tebas had shown disrespect for the players, just because they left. Melero thinks La Liga has been taking advantage of these players for years.

“Your incredible comments about the ages of these players are not only an insult to their past and present role in determining how our great game is played, but also to the millions of fans around the world who idolize them,” said Melero.

Melero also responded to Tebas’ accusations about PSG being more dangerous than the Super League, so they should be made common enemies. Melero pointed to Madrid and Barcelona who have been the main supporters of the formation of the Super League.

“I’m quite surprised you aren’t paying more attention to the two clubs in your league that are still trying to break up your league, and European football as a whole,” said Melero.

“The public is aware of a number of Spanish clubs, and your league is facing debt instability problems due to mismanagement, that includes the way the finances have been managed in Spanish football over the last few decades.”

“We invite you to [belajar] how to solve problems in your domestic competition for which you are responsible, and stop making repeated attempts at diversion.”
