DARMSTADT – After the poison attack on August 23 at the TU Darmstadt, there was another police operation on Sunday evening.

According to the police, an allegedly broken door on the building of the materials science department was reported, in which on August 23, 2021 people showed health problems including symptoms of poisoning after consuming food and beverages. The police initially assumed that an unauthorized person could have gained access.

Therefore the building was surrounded and searched with service dogs. According to the police, the search of the building lasted until about 11 p.m. No suspicious persons could be found in the building, nor was the door broken, but probably only accidentally not locked properly.

There is currently no evidence of a connection between the incident on August 23 and the ajar door. Purely as a precaution, the students and academic staff arriving on Monday morning will be prompted to enter the building via the main entrance and be informed of the facts.
