Six people were injured after a man attacked a knife at the Park Inn Hotel in Glasgow on Friday.
Among the injured were police officer David Whyte, 42, who is seriously injured but stable.
The other five injured were all men aged 17, 18, 20, 38 and 53. According to the Scottish newspaper The Herald the severity is currently unknown.
The perpetrator was shot and killed by police on the spot.

Shouts the police
Police say the city is in shock after the incident.
– Horrible events like this are fortunately very rare in Scotland. This has shaken the people of Glasgow and the rest of the country, says Chief Constable Iain Livingstone newspaper.
In a statement Friday night, he disclosed the name of the policeman who was injured in the incident.
– My thoughts are with those who were injured and their families, including our colleague David Whyte, who was seriously injured while doing his job, says Livingstone.
He also paid tribute to the policemen who contributed to the action for the job they did.
– Police officers have once again put themselves at risk of protecting their citizens. It is amazing how professional they handled the event. I want to pay tribute to them for the courage, selflessness and dedication they have to protect society, the Chief Constable says to The Herald.

Not terror
The knife attack happened at the reception at the Park Inn Hotel, located on West George Street in Glasgow, on Friday afternoon. A heavily armed police raid reached out to the incident and blocked off the streets around the hotel.
About 80 asylum seekers have stayed at the hotel during the corona pandemic, writes The Guardian. The alleged perpetrator is believed to be one of the asylum seekers.
The anti-terror police were first notified of the incident. Later it was confirmed that it was a terrorist incident.
– The incident in West George Street is not considered terror. We will continue to investigate the incident, Scotland police said in a statement later Friday, according to the newspaper.
