Police: No threatening situation after incident Utrecht Centraal | NOW

The investigation into the possibly suspicious situation at Utrecht Central that was instituted after Tuesday’s incident has been completed, the law enforcement Wednesday. There is no longer a threatening situation.

Around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, the Utrecht police received a report about a suspicious situation in a train. A passenger on the train would have shouted something suspicious or worrisome. Ultimately, two people were arrested.

The train station was evacuated as a precaution and the area was cordoned off. However, an investigation after the incident showed that there were no weapons or explosives, according to the police. The two persons appeared to have nothing to do with the incident. They have been released and are no longer suspects.

According to the police, interrogation of witnesses showed that there was no question of an imminent situation.
