  1. Fire devil on the way – Hainburg/Seligenstadt

A total of three fires occupied the night service of the fire brigade and the Seligenstadt police from Friday evening to Saturday morning. The emergency services were first alerted at around 8:44 p.m. when a forest fire was reported west of Hainstadt. The arriving Hainburg fire brigade had to fight around 150m² of forest in the Leinrittschneise area. Mainly forest soil and a fallen tree had burned. An adjacent young forest was slightly affected. Self-ignition is excluded. Since the end of March 2022, there have already been six more fires in this forest area, the last on the morning of June 16, 2022 (Corpus Christi). Shortly before midnight (11:39 p.m.), a second fire was reported to the rescue control center. This time the storage area of the Seligenstadt building yard on Wilhelm-Leuschner-Strasse was affected. This is used for storing green waste and other bulk materials. When the Seligenstadt fire brigade arrived, which was supported by surrounding fire departments, around 300 square meters of green waste were burning, which had to be pulled apart with a wheel loader after the first extinguishing work in order to fight the fire more effectively. In this case, too, self-ignition can be ruled out. The third fire was reported at around 0418. This time, a lumber store in a garden on Carl-Ulrich-Strasse in Hainstadt caught fire. Several meters of wood and the storage shelter burned down completely. Several trees caught fire in the facility, but the fire brigade was able to quickly put them out. While the damage in the first two cases remains unquantified, damage of around 4000 euros was caused in the garden. Witnesses who can provide relevant information, especially if suspicious vehicles and/or people were observed in the area of the fire, are asked to come along contact the Seligenstadt police on 06182-89300.
