An explosion occurred last night at a porch house on Louis Couperusstraat in Slotermeer. Further down the street, several cars were also damaged. The police is investigating the case.
The explosion, which according to police probably occurred around 2:30 a.m., was only discovered by passers-by around 9 a.m. Part of the sidewalk in front of the building is currently closed off. Forensics is conducting an investigation.
The two cars that were damaged are also being investigated. It is still unclear how the damage was caused. There may have been a second explosion, a police spokesperson said.
The police are also investigating whether the graffiti sprayed on the adjacent door is related to the explosion. The door features a euro sign, a clock and a ‘6’, among other things, the spokesperson said.
People who know more are asked to report to the police. The spokesperson emphasizes that this can also be done anonymously via the number 0800-7000.
