After the serious car accident of the golf star Tiger Woods, the authorities are examining a data recorder from the crashed vehicle. US media reported a search warrant on Wednesday.

According to USA Today, the police waived another search warrant in order to be able to examine Woods’ blood for traces of substances.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva had repeatedly said that there was no evidence that the 45-year-old athlete was under the influence of narcotics when he got off the road in his SUV last week and rolled over several times.

Woods had multiple open fractures in his right leg in the accident and is in a Los Angeles hospital. It remains to be seen whether he will return to the golf course. He hadn’t played since December because of his fifth back operation. Now it will probably be months before he can walk normally again.
