Police continue to search for the missing girl and counselor throughout the day

Tonight, police suspend their search for ten-year-old Hebe Zwart, who disappeared Monday night from Raamsdonksveer with her supervisor Sanne. “Now that it is dark, the search becomes more difficult, so the search will stop and we will continue tomorrow,” writes the Oost-Brabant Unit. on Twitter.

The investigation into the case continues. A police team is currently investigating the suggestions. Police say “all scenarios are taken into consideration”.

Around 4:30 pm, skid marks from a car and oil were seen on the surface of the water in a canal in Waspik. Police investigated there for several hours with a sonar boat, but found nothing and have now completed the search at that spot.

In other places, investigators look at license plate scans and camera images, among other things, to look for the car the attendant was driving in, a black Kia Picanto with license plate number PR425K.

In Waspik, police received help from military veterans with experience in searching for missing persons:

The girl and her supervisor had left a daytime business in Raamsdonksveer. Due to her condition, she needs round-the-clock care and she was supposed to be taken home to Vught, more than 30 kilometers away, but she never got there. The girl is wearing a purple backpack, a bright pink jacket and a black skirt.

Police helicopters were also searched today and an Amber alert was issued this morning. An Amber alert is sent by the police to search for a missing child who is in danger of life. Notification is sent about once or twice a year. Even in the TV show Search Wanted attention has been paid to the matter. Among other things, photos of Hebe and his supervisor were shown. People who saw the black Picanto were invited to contact the search hotline.

NOS journalist Edwin van den Berg was today near Waspik, east of Raamsdonksveer. “The fastest way to drive from Raamsdonksveer to Vught is via the A59. But there are also many high dam roads with water alongside.”

The Telegraph talked to a friend of the girl’s assistant about what might have happened. “I know one thing for sure: Sanne would never hurt Hebe. There is no one who loves Hebe as much as Sanne. She hasn’t done anything to herself either.”

According to him, there are two scenarios. “The first is that she ran off the road and went somewhere or went into the water. Or they were both caught against their will,” he says. According to him, Sanne’s phone went down. She calls it extraordinary. “She always has her phone on and makes sure it’s always charged. Sanne is very punctual. She never misses a round of medicine for Hebe.”

According to the police, the girl has “special motor skills, walks unsteadily with her feet out and suffers from scoliosis”.

The girl’s family states in a statement that they are grateful for the statements of support they have received and stress that the girl and her supervisor have “a special bond”. “The family hopes they will soon be together.”

The family doesn’t want to speculate on what exactly might have happened. “The police are still busy with the search.”
