Several heavily armed men entered the parish of the city and took around G. 1,600 million.

In the courtyard of the church, many elderly people were waiting to collect their retirement and the Christmas bonus.

The strangers descended with their faces covered in a gray stone and gave the voice of assault. One of those in charge of the payment commented that both she and her partner were threatened with death.

The vehicle in which they committed the assault, which was abandoned shortly after in the area known as Las Garzas, was left with the rear doors open and the engine running. Investigators are looking for security cameras to determine how they continued to flee.

At the time of the robbery, there were only two police officers as there was a striking changing of the guard.

The National Directorate of Paraguayan Postal Services (Dinacopa) is in charge of carrying out the outsourced payment service, so the assault went to said institution and not to the IPS and is waiting to analyze the insurance policy.
